after appearances in numerous end-of-year charts, raffertie continues to meddle with the dna of uk dance music on two ready made anthems. the more ballistic side of rafferties oeuvre is shown on the blazing >7th dimension< with crushed house beats alloyed to swooping bass wobbles and head searing synths, while the oddly affecting >string theory< should only add to his fanbase with an impressive grasp of bassline dynamics and vintage uk rave atmospherics that doesnt sound like much out there.

reincarnation is back with a debut from another upcoming italian production team, dirty channels. they deliver two african inspired tech jams, african democrazy and litho. the first has been also reworked by monocaldas rame into a slighty tougher workout and by isoul8 into a deep psychedelic journey.

the ep features the first official release of the title track (now properly mixed and mastered, with a shouted hook from izza kizza) as well as a hyperactive juke remix of crookers anthem knobbers by dj gant man, and two incredible takes on the follow-up cudi collab embrace the martian courtesy of uk beat maestro seiji.

it was only a matter of time. two genre-defining artists together ... pop music and dance musics most famous arbiters of taste, collaborating at last. dj hells >u can dance< is an interpretation of an unreleased bryan ferry song, but its one that reflects a perfect melding of two distinct personalities, a record that sounds as if the voice and music were made for each other.
hell, of course, has been riding high on the success of >teufelswerk<, his masterpiece of a double album, a journey replete with fruitful experiments and club bombs. one that has yielded both massive hits and not a tiny bit of controversy along the way. ferry, meanwhile, has been as busy as ever—recording a new album, performing in places as far afield as siberia, opening up the cannes film festival ... basically just being bryan ferry.
and now here they are together ... it all started in 2006 when hell dropped in to meet ferry at his west london studio. at first they discussed hell remixing an old roxy music track, and then it turned into something else - something new (u can dance).
they had similar impressions of one another — hell: >i was impressed by his aura and his look.<, ferry: >he impressed us with his sophistication and charm.< fast forward a few years later, and hell is hard at work on teufelswerk and putting the finishing touches on the aforementioned song titled >u can dance<, a serpentine moroder-esque disco burner. with the help of old friend peter kruder, of kruder and dorfmeister fame, hell fashioned the song into a smoldering nine-minute highlight of the double disc set, in which ferry turns in a typically assured vocal performance.
ferry may seem like an unexpected fan of dance, but hes been going to clubs since he was a teenager, and in his lengthy career hes worked with legends such as nile rodgers of chic and david williams from michael jacksons band. >its always a pleasure to work with people from that genre, who follow a singular groove.<
the single follows in the wake of hells >the dj feat. p. diddy< which has won over floors and critics alike with its nearly 30-minute radio slave remix and fine work from the likes of deetron, jay haze and others. on >u can dance< hell and ferry have similarly pulled out all the stops for the remixes, gathering up work from the grammy-nominated producer carl craig, dfa mainstay tim goldsworthy and pop electro superstars simian mobile disco.

2017 repress, with jamie and i being die hard fans of prince, i knew that once we sat down to work on this >prince-like< vocal track, the outcome might turn out epic… and it did! >nasty things< became an instant anthem for our dj sets. two takes on the talking heads on the reverse to round it all out

2009 was a great year for these days records, and 2010 promises to be even better. the platform stood out for its innovative yet functional club sound and unique artwork concepts. the new year begins with a new split series under the name universal consciousness, based on the idea of connection between all things, and that all things have been coordinated, and they combine to make up the same universe. the first part is dedicated to two very different takes on spiritual, cosmic space techno. on the a-side argys >sometimes im blind< generates a long and uplifting emotional climax, which features a solo that will forever stay in your heart. the track was recorded at the end of 2008, and despite numerous offers to release the record elsewhere, nothing was finalised and the recording never saw the light of day. soon after the birth of his own label, it naturally fit the platform and seemed a perfect way to start the new year. on the flip side, sheffield born alexander ross, brings forth a cavernous techno piece awash with reverberation and spacial echos that brings a driving yet non the less emotionally captivating moment perfectly in balance with the depth of the a-side.

>twisted tango< is the most stripped down of all three tracks and a real cool groover. one of these tracks that grow enormously with volume and space. these two guys have got a good vision of how dance music should be to clad the clubbers in cotton batting. their cool way of transmitting indifference has always been the carrier of sensuality and sexiness in entertainment and it does create a certain kind of peppermint stench here. the vocals stabs in this one work like dubby elements which deep a & biri drop like things dropping out of your pocket.
>mischievous< is a perfect bassline monster... deep and heavy with a genius >pam pam< vocal stab. we dont know where these samples come from but they are luscious as hell. welcome to the pleasure dome!
>hine gama< is as cool as the two other tracks but but a little more laissez-faire fair. we dont think that anybody will be able to resist this bright light brown colour it shows with all its reflections of intensive sunbeams shining in.
this release fits perfectly to the last release on trapez ltd.
